Berlin, May 19 2016 – predict.io presents its Mobile Context SDK on May 19 in the Investor Tour at Startup Fest Europe in Amsterdam. Mobile developers can now sign-up for 50.000 free licenses. Within minutes developers can now enable their apps to sense user context.
predict.io allows app developers to identify key moments in a user’s journey. The SDK extracts data from sensors on the smartphones in real-time. Many different sensors such as Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Barometer, Wifi or GPS are used to predict user behavior. The SDK leverages a machine learning framework to turn sensor data into ready-made status updates for developers. Berlin-based predict.io’s mission is to help developers to trigger relevant push notifications without spending many months of development. The predict.io SDK is free to be used on up to 50.000 devices. So that small developers can take advantage of what Apple and Google have developed internally.
“Modern smartphones produce up to 1 GB of sensor data every hour. At some point everybody’s watch, thermostat, phone, car and jacket will have built-in sensors and CPUs. But making sense of all the data in real-time is a huge technical challenge. That’s where we come into the picture,” says Founder and Chief Excitement Operator (CEO) Silvan C. Rath.
The SDK of predict.io can identify, if your phone is in a vehicle. A messenger app can use that to not bother the user while driving, which is a huge road security benefit. It would also know that you arrived in a specific location. If your credit card is being used in another location, it can alert the owner. Maybe he wants to review the transaction that just happened miles away from him? Or why do travelers need to remember to checkout from a train trip? The phone already knows the user has stepped out of the train. Same goes for paying your parking fees with the phone. The smartphone phone already knows when the user parked or started driving again. With the predict.io SDK apps can be much smarter about when and how to interact with the user.
predict.io launched at TechCrunch Disrupt on May 9th, In New York and won the Smart Mobility Pitch Event (SMPE) in Delft in the Nederland. The developer sign-up now opens at TechCrunch Disrupt New York on May 9th.
